"Along with the rise of Arab nationalism and Arab independence, life for Jews in Egypt and other Arab countries became intolerable. All this started happening years before Israel was established. Within a 20-year period starting in 1945, nearly a million Jews were forced out of Arab countries. Being Jewish was criminalized in Egypt in the late 1940s. Other Arab states such as Iraq, Libya, and Syria, passed similar laws. Jews began facing iron walls of discrimination and harassment by the authorities. Most of us were dispossessed. Our schools, homes, synagogues, businesses, farms, and hospitals, were all confiscated by Arab governments. Our rich, 3,000-year-old culture and heritage was decimated. No trial, no jury, no justice." -Joseph Wahed “Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away, and that in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty.” -Martin Luther King, Jr. "My parents came from Iran and Tunisia, but nobody is going to give our property back to us. It's all been confiscated ... We have this little sandbox we call Israel. We give our hearts and lives to make it a proud country." -Kobi (Subliminal) Shimoni "There are things in this world a man does well to carry to extremes." -Cyrano de Bergerac "Am Israel Chai! / !עם ישראל חי" "Peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity." -Martin Luther King, Jr. "Even though I'm not Jewish...Israel is one of the few causes I feel good about supporting." -Ray Charles "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who didn't do anything about it." -Albert Einstein "!כל הכבוד לצה"ל / Kol Ha'kavod Le'Tzahal!" "Today, the Middle East is a cauldron of chaos and change. What is not known is that Jews lived in what are now Arab states for over 2,500 years. Their communities pre-date the rise of Islam 1,400 years ago in the 7th century. Jewish communities from North Africa to Iraq date from the Babylonian destruction of the first Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, 500 years before the birth of Christianity. All of this is long before the establishment of today’s Arab Muslim countries." -Natalie Zeituny "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." -Barry Goldwater "I know we are the 'chosen people' but, once in a while, can't you choose someone else?" -Tevye (Chaim Topol) "And disgusted by the anti-Semitism of many Italians, of many Europeans, I am ashamed of this shame that dishonors my Country and Europe. At best, it is not a community of States, but a pit of Pontius Pilates. And even if all the inhabitants of this planet were to think otherwise, I would continue to think so." -Oriana Fallaci "It is better to have an Israel the whole world hates than an Auschwitz the whole world loves." -Rabbi Meir Kahane "Jerusalem has been our capital for 3000 years. We were here when your forefathers were drinking wine, burying their daughters alive, and worshiping idols." -Mordechai Kedar "It has been our belief that the Jewish state must be, and indeed, will be, one wherein there will be equal rights for all its citizens regardless of race, nationality and origin." -Menachem Begin "Once we have a war there is only one thing to do. It must be won. For defeat brings worse things than any that can ever happen in war." -Ernest Hemingway "To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing." -Elbert Hubbard "We, Jews from the Arab/Islamic countries, want to tell the world our story. But there is one problem: our generation is getting old and we don’t have much time left. The media doesn’t care much about us, neither does the UN." -Joseph Wahed "When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews. You're talking anti-Semitism." -Martin Luther King, Jr. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." -Edmund Burke "Do not pass up a chance to express your views on important issues.... If a dictatorship ever comes to this country, it will be by the default of those who keep silent." -Ayn Rand "I do not reject peace, but I am afraid of war disguised as peace." -Cicero “My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.” -Ayn Rand "Please do your best to get me out of here, because Lebanon is no place to be, and I really want to see you all -- no one should have to remain in captivity when there are other alternatives... Yom Kippur is approaching and I will be praying together with you. Let’s hope that He will help the leaders make the right choices. But you can also help." -Ron Arad in a letter to his wife, Rosh Ha'Shana 1987 "The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; the Greek and the Roman followed; and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other people have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?" -Mark Twain "We make war that we may live in peace." -Aristotle |

And what shall the response be to this...filth?
The last event should be interesting. If Malik Ali says that we should donate money to Hamas, or admits that he does (which is pretty likely), I am pretty sure that it is a punishable crime.
Time for a terrorism round-up at the UC Irvine campus...
dude...that guy was retarded. just plain old retarded. mujahideen want to move the world forward? what planet did he come from?
Phixit: I trust you received my message via Facebook. We're having events and programs, and we'll also be flyering for the outdoor events. Once I know about dates and we get funding dealt with, I will post about events. Let me know if you'd like to help next week.
Our message this week was not reactive to any group (we had this week's pro-Israel message planned way in advance of the MSU events), and students really seem to like what we're doing. We had a BBQ and we're giving out lots of neat free stuff while educating people on what Israel and Israelis have done for the world (i.e. technology, medicine).
Student of Objectivism: That is why it is critical to document speakers. It also helps just to have a record of their argument.
anonymous 1: The events should be very interesting. Basically, the same speakers from last year's will be here spewing their hateful propaganda.
Phixit: I spoke to him (Musa) today after he gave a talk near the flagpoles. His talk focused on "Islamic Revivalism." I asked him if he would care to comment on and condemn Palestinian suicide bombers and violence against Israelis. Instead, he started accusing Israel of terrorism. He also mentioned how the Israelis are all Europeans (which is not true). I pointed out that my family was forced to flee the Arab world and were refugees. He didn't care to acknolwedge that in the beginning. In the end he suggested that perhaps I should consider going to Iraq [or Syria], to which I responded: "Nah, I don't think they really want me there."
I think it is blatantly obvious that Musa is guilty of presenting misinformation. He blames the "Jews" for just about every crime against humanity, including the slave trade. We pointed out that the Arabs have been/are involved with slave trading. He says the Zionists are behind it, ultimately.
At least I know what his position is now. Although you can't convince someone to be open-minded, I think it's important to understand their mentality.
Also, I spoke to one fairly positive and seemingly moderate young man with the MSU. He actually acknowledged Israel's right to exist and I told him that I think Palestinians should have a state once there is a revision in their corrupt government (PLO/Hamas). I was really impressed until someone with the MSU remarked "how about giving the Palestinians their land." I really don't think this group is interested in a two-state solution, proactive debate or anything remotely peaceful, yet I have been accused of being an extremist. This is why AFI isn't interested in co-sponsoring events with the MSU. It seems pointless when the group as a whole is so against Israel and calls for Israel to be "wiped of the map."
Why are Jews such fucking wimps? You people should be threatening to burn the school down or to riot.
This is not about free speech but about the advcating of genocide of the Jewish people and the destruction of Israel!
If my people were on the receiving end of such abuse I would sue every single person in UC involved with this event. Where are all the Jewish lawyers in this case?
I use to be on your side dudes but at this point I don't even care anymore. If the Jewish people don't care about themselves than how do you expect anybody else to?
I firmly believe that that the fact that most Jews now have only one Jewish parent is behind this defeast attitude. Real Jews don't exist anymore in America.
Take it with a grain of salt, but Wikipedia has an article on Lenni Brenner and Dovid Weiss
and here's a link to Imam al-Asi's website
May the bastards of the MSU do something wrong this week so UCI can finally have a third strike against them and thus an excuse to throw the bums out.
