Reut R. Cohen
I wanted to provide a link to a blog that belongs to a fellow UC Irvine student who has elected to remain anonymous and write of her experiences. This individual asserts that she is an ex-Muslim and an ex-Muslim Student Union member. I recommend visiting this person's page since it is a unique perspective from someone very familiar with Islam and the Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine.
Excerpt:
Last week, through random chance, I had realized that I had an opportunity to speak with Reut Cohen. As a fellow rational being who hates what is going on with MSU-UCI, I had been following her blog, and was determined to talk to her. Also last week, I had conducted a Google search on ex-Muslims, not my first search of the sort, but it had been about 7 months since I had Googled that term. What I found astounded me: the number of both anonymous and attributed ex-Muslim blogs has skyrocketed. There are rightist ones, leftist ones, in-between ones... all contained observations and feelings that made me feel less alone.

Thanks for posting this Reut. It's a very interesting blog.
BTW, I noticed that UC Irvine's President signed the statement with 300 other heads of U.S. Universities opposing the UK Israeli academic boycott.
I posted an article about it, and I linked the list in case you are interested.

What happened to the website?
so the person who started the blog had her safety threatened and so she decided to take it down.
At this point I am going to refrain from commenting on the blog or why it was taken down. Certainly, however, it was an interesting look into the Muslim Student Union at UCI from an ex-member.
Best,
Reut R. Cohen
such a crying shame. i was enjoying her entries too. :(
yeah, it was a very good blog and well-written too.
a friend of mine is an ex muslim or a "secular muslim." it's hard enough for him as a guy to be vocal. i'm sure it's worse for this girl. i pray for her safety.
