“Thank Israeli Soldiers”, an Israeli charity, was founded by 3 young IDF reservists to give Israelis and Jews around the world a vehicle to show appreciation to the young men and women protecting Israel.
This morale-boosting relationship is created by people sending personal notes and a care package filled with supplies specifically requested by the soldiers themselves.
Thousands of young men and women chose to give years of their lives to defend Israel. You can choose to say thanks by choosing which size package to send, which area of the country to send the package, and what to say in your letter to a soldier.
I am very impressed with the work of this organization. Young students, the elderly, and disabled individuals help prepare the care packages. I urge anyone who can afford to spare $18, $25 or $36 to send a care package to a wonderful IDF soldier to show them you value how they are fighting to keep Israel safe. You can donate here.
[The project]...was founded by three former IDF soldiers who took part in the second Lebanon War.
Yechiel Lanzkron, Aviv Vishkovski, and Akiva Shmueli felt that the only way to make the army stronger was to show soldiers that they were appreciated....
To find out what soldiers needed, Thank Israeli Soldiers conducted a survey among 300 participants from the army. The results decided what would fill the $18, $25, and $36 packages.
Inside every box is a personal letter from the donor, as well as their phone number if the soldier wishes to speak with the individual. Donors are permitted to select the region where their gift will be sent, and many have bought more than one care package at a time.
"We really want people to send love," said Lanzkron, "and I believe we can really make soldiers smile at an affordable price. It's easy to help the soldiers. It takes five minutes on our Web site. If someone is in the car, we have a telephone system so you can send the care package electronically."
