Israeli Company Unveils Groundbreaking External Evacuation System

Initiated in September 2003, Escape Rescue System, has designed a revolutionary external evacuation system that will saves lives and get first responders as well as SWAT teams on location with out having to enter the building from the ground. In July 2004, Escape installed the first prototype system on a 21 story building in Ramat-Gan, Israel.

Selected by the US Department of Homeland Security as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology, Escape Rescue Systems' is a collection of collapsible cabins, permanently stored on the roof in a folded position. It's independently powered and operated to ensure its availability in a mass emergency. In their folded form, the cabins are lowered to ground level, where first responders unfold and enter the cabins. The evacuation system can rescue 30 people per cabin every 8 minutes. [1]
